Kristin Folkvord Pedersen – Alto

A member of the Oslo Gospel Choir since 1998, Kristin Folkvord Pedersen has been involved in many different aspects of music since she was a child. Beginning with violin and piano lessens at the age of seven soon followed by voice lessens, Kristin had the full support of her musical family, which recognized the importance of musical training.

She soon combined her music skills with acting, appearing in student productions of Fiddler on the Roof, La Bohème, The Magic Flute and taking the lead role of Maria in West Side Story. She was already a gospel music performer when, after studying music at first Oslo bible school and then university, she began teaching music history, theory and ear training. She went on to earn her living as a singer, providing back-up vocals for a variety of artists.

Kristin lives with her husband and two children just outside of Oslo, and works at a record company and cultural church. She describes how her experience as part of the OGC has been enriching, saying, “The time we spend together is wonderful in many ways! The music, and the ministry we share, as well as all the beautiful people and resulting lifelong friendships are a big blessing in my life.”
